Poorly designed hinge, worthless!
Bought this "quality" Kohler Brevia toilet seat to replace the one on my Kohler toilet. The metal screw is fine thread and the plastic nut is also fine thread so the screw can't bite and hold when trying to tighten it down enough to keep the seat from sliding. Don't waste your money on this seat.

it's a toilet seat
does what it is suppose to do, fair price for this brand name, not totally sold on the type of hinges used,(removable for cleaning without tools) but seems to work well.
Wobbles badly, plastic retention nut strips
As mentioned here before, the problem is with the retention nut, which secures the seat to the toilet bowl.
Kohler's box advertises, "Prevents Loosening, Quick Attach hardware secures seat in place."
Wrong. I tightened the screw to the point where the bowl wouldn't wobble; that stripped the plastic nut that sits below the back rim of the toilet. Now the seat wobbles badly.
BAD DESIGN! Who would have a metal bolt screw into a plastic nut, especially one which was supposed to be designed to keep the toilet seat from wobbling. Wobbling is not an unusual problem, as the Kohler assurance above demonstrates.
I'm sick of false advertising, often false to the point of fraud. Shame on you, Kohler.
UPDATE: I called Kohler (800-456-4537) and complained. The service rep promised to send out 2 new hinge assemblies which, she said, "were used to correct this problem." So Kohler knows about the problem but is selling the defective product...
