Paint Rubbed Off After a Year
We owned our Bemis seat with its "superior high-gloss finish" that "resists chipping and scratching" (taken from their website) for about a year and a half before the paint started wearing through to the "durable molded wood" underneath.
We're a family of four, and we use our toilet pretty normally. We don't sit there wiggling around, rubbing our butts back and forth, abrading the paint (which, if it were actually superior, would be able to withstand such antics anyway, I would think). And none of us is overweight, so there is a normal amount of pressure on and flesh contact with the seat. It's simply as cheaply made as the price would indicate.

Simple installation, Quality construction.......
Took more time to remove old rusted seat than the time it took to install the new Bemis 1500. You turn the top of the seat locking plastic covers counter clockwise and then lift the seat straight off. "Even a caveman can do it". This is a high quality Toilet Seat and for the price you probably can't do better...........
Easiest installation ever!
Crazy to write a review for a toilet seat but I am impressed. After taking almost 20 minutes to remove my old toilet seat I was dreading the installation of the new one. When I read the 3 step instructions for this one I was thrilled. It took all of 2 minutes! For those who are mechanically challenged, I highly recommend this one!
