Broken ankle? It's your product!
I did research on what people had to say about toilet rails/frames. Didn't find much so I bought this one. It was relatively cheap and very lightweight.
Positive:
1) Easy to assemble. You need to remove the toilet seat, then put in their metal insert and put the screws in again. Then the 4 other parts snap in within seconds.
2) Two adjustible widths, so if you are wide, you can use it too.
3) I adjusted only one side to wide, so my broken leg can rest on the tub, this way the grey armrest tilts back a little and lets the leg stay up (what it should do if its broken).
4) Nice cushion-y armrests to sit and read a newspaper.
Negative:
1)Shaky, because it's so lightweight. BUT if you push DOWN on the arm rests as opposed to wiggle them, it REALLY helps stand up by yourself.

Good helper for bad knees
This safety frame is sturdy enough for someone 185 pounds [probably more but only I have used it]. It takes the stress off knees. It's been a great helper when I've been having aqua therapy to build up muscles around my knees. It installs easily onto the screws on the back of the toilet lid. It can be adjusted for height and can be moved out or in a bit if needed. Only problem with it is that the rail is in the way when getting toilet paper, but this would depend on where your t.p. holder is installed. I will probably just lower the arms a little.......hasn't been enough of a problem to bother yet and I like the arms set high.
economical
Fit well in a fairly tight space; low cost. Slight movement of the frame as installed which does not affect its utility at all. I would expect all similar safety bars which attach in the same way (bolted on with the toilet seat) to have the same issue. I like that the legs are set back from the front of the arms. That makes the entire frame less obtrusive.
