Easy installation
I have purchased 3 Moen Flip Up Grab Bars for my home. They are quick and easy to install and at 235 pounds I checked it with my full weight before allowing my wife to use it. I am amazed how many people use our bath room and do not notice the grab bars.
She loves the flip up as it is out of the way while she transfers and pulls down easily.
If you are remodeling a bathroom to a universal bath a good step that is not done by some contractors is to notch the studs at the minimum height of grab bars and then at 9 1/4 inches higher. The depth of the notch is 1 1/2 inches. the number of studs is about 4. Install a 2x10 in the notches. when the wall is finished you have a solid board to install the grab bar to and plenty of leeway on height.

Safety Bar Gives Peace of Mind
We purchased this safety bar for the shower and had some trepidation as it did not list that as one of the uses for the bar. After speaking to a rep, we purchased and installed. It works perfectly. We have no wall on one side of the shower so my mother-in-law had nothing to hold onto on that side and felt very nervous about getting up and down off her bath chair as well as working the controls of shower. This bar was an instant hit. She loves it and it is allowing her to be independant just that much longer.
When you don't need it or need to clean the shower, you just fold it up out of the way. I would recommend this to anyone that has a similiar need. Just make sure it can be installed properly - i.e. stud - not just tile and drywall. My husband is handy and was able to install with no problems.
Moen Grab Bar
We purchased this Moen Grab Bar to install beside my mother's toilet to aide her in getting up. It was easy to install. The fold up feature makes it convenient for guests. It comes in stainless or the white that we chose to coordinate with her bathroom's wainscoting and cupboards. Amazon's price was $20 cheaper than other models and shipping was free!
